Just what is James Arthur Ray thinking at this very moment? Talk about stress and not knowing what the outcome is going to be. Now, I haven’t read absolutely every piece of evidence that is out there to convict James Ray, but I do know one thing. If I were in a sweat lodge, and I wasn’t feeling good, absolutely, no one or anything that they were saying to me, would make me stay there. I mean no disrespect to those who lost their lives in the Sedona sweat lodge incident. But, I have to ask myself…if I’m in control over one person, and that’s me, why would I allow someone to encourage, cajole, or embarrass me into staying in absolutely unbearable conditions? I’m pretty sure that James never meant for anyone to lose their life. I’ve met the guy. Is he intense…yes! Is he gutsy and willing to stretch you completely out of your comfort zone…absolutely! A murderer? NO!!! Just my opinion.

February 1st, 2010You may have seen my Facebook or Twitter posts that I am reading Excuse Me, Your Life Is Waiting. And, if you didn’t, here is the expanded version. Now, understand, I’ve been trained by BOB PROCTOR! I know quite a bit about the mind…thoughts cause feelings…feelings cause actions….actions produce results. I KNOW this stuff! Then I’m reading this book and I begin to realize something very fundamental. When I’m thinking something, am I really “feeling” to the degree that I need to be to “actually” manifest something!?! I’m thinkin’…NO!
How do I reproduce the feeling of say, getting a hole in one…getting married…buying a new car or home…taking a dream vacation…riding a roller coaster??? You get what I’m saying? In order for this “Law of Attraction” to work, according to Excuse Me, Your Life Is Waiting, I have to reproduce those feelings for a minimum of 16 seconds to up to 15 minutes…or longer. Okay…Lynn Grabhorn has my attention!
So I loaded up a bunch of new songs onto my iPod to see if something stirred within me…and it did! Now, songs may not work for you. Maybe you need to look at pictures, journal or watch Rocky IV. You are going to see more comments on this subject from me. I’m enthralled!
Laser Focus
January 27th, 2010I hold a free event at my training facility in Redmond, Oregon. It’s called, “Think Tank Tuesday.” It’s a great networking opportunity and I present about a half hour of content. Yesterday, we hooked a couple of people up to some new software that I just got. It’s EmWave technology. What we found is that we can attach a clip to a person’s earlobe, they watch a “game” on the screen and they are able to regulate their heartbeat and bring themself to a happy and calm place. They are actually training themselves to be happy. How great would it be to, at any time during your day, switch your mental attitude to something happy?
This showed me that we can focus on something like a “laser.” I was reminded from Napoleon Hill’s, Think & Grow Rich, that one most hold their purpose, their goal, and their drive with absolute laser focus. No matter what is going on around you…no matter if you get slightly derailed…you get back to the purpose as quickly as possible. Easier said than done? Yes! Impossible? No! This is where I think that coaching is absolutely invaluable. Hey…I’m a coach and I’ve got a coach! We all need help with keeping on track.
“Think” Yourself Out of Bad Stress
January 25th, 2010Stressed out??? I was being thoughtful today about stress…bad stress, that is. I don’t care if you try massage, yoga, drugs, or a new relationship, if you don’t understand how your mind works and you aren’t able to recognize some poor conditioning, you’ll never get bad stress out of your life.
I was thinking about all of the times that I try to just calm down…either by meditation or by getting a massage. If what is going on in my mind is not calm, it’s hard to make the physical body calm, isn’t it? So, how does one make the shift? You must be consciously aware of what you’re thinking about. Are you thinking about the job you hate, the weight you need to lose, or the winter that will never end? If you are, you’re not creating a positive environment for your thoughts. You can choose to see if the good in any situation. You do this with the power of your will. Will is what you use to focus on something, to the exclusion of everything else. Give it a try. And, let me know how it goes for you.
